GETTING USED TO UNIVERSITY LIFE
there are a couple of differences between school and university life, some of the obvious are :-
1. Dress Code : In high school you are required to wear the school uniform which is white baju kurung with turquoise skirt for girls and white collar shirt and olive pants for boy. You also need to wear uniform on Wednesday. Meanwhile in college, you are allowed to wear any type of clothes as long as it follows the rule which is it is not to short and looks neat and some more rules you need to follow in order to keep a good image of yourself and your attended University.
2. Schedule : High school schedule are packed from 7.40 a.m. to 2.30 p.m with only break from lunch and there will be no classes (except for extra class) after 3.00 p.m. but in University the timetable is self construct which mean that you are the one who choose the time for your class and the timetable is not so pack and there also might be classes up to 6.00 p.m. and night class up to your lecturer.
3. Homework v Assignment : In higschool, teacher would give you homework that need to be done and pass on the next class or be submitted within the weeks but in University you are given tutorial which will be discuss in class and a short/long period assingment that was given a deadline usually on the final week of each semester. Another obvious point is your homework would not affect your grade while assingment would bring a carry mark of 60% in your cgpa.
4. Grading system : Grade A - F is used in the grading system of highschool and was given to each subject respectively while University grading using the cgpa method that is carried throughout your whole studies.
5. Use of gadget : You are allowed and advise to use gadget to make studying easier in university while gadget like mobile phone and laptop are prohibited to bring during the whole school session.
